Dad's Love Foundation was created out of one of the most horribly gut wrenching experiences of my life.
The loss of my baby son.
I remember sitting there and thinking to myself how I was going to keep it together for my wife when I couldn't even breathe. Moms, rightfully so, get a ton of support and services offered to them when their babies are sick, dying, or lost.
Everyone in the moment is often left sitting there gasping for breath, trying to keep it together to support them, and at the same time we are overwhelmed and lost. Not knowing what to do next.
When I went home to the "real" world. The day to day existing that was my new reality, I was lucky enough to have the support of amazing people in my life. It brought my wife and I closer together due to our faith journey. I belong to an AMAZING faith community. I was blessed by the love of my surviving children.
I also realized that I had a new mission. A mission to make sure that other Dads, Mothers, First Responders, Family members, and Medical Staff going through heartache with their children through illness, injury, or loss receive support that is tailored to them.
